LITTLE EGRET (
Egretta garzetta) – (See images below)
The little egret is about 2 feet long and white with black legs and a black bill. As wading birds, they are found in wetlands of temperate and tropical areas across the Old World. They, together with their look alike the snowy egret, used to be hunted for their feathers to satisfy the fashion industry demand for women’s hats. The little egret nests in colonies, and its diet is made of fish and other creatures living in wetlands.
