The New Zealand Pigeon (or New Zealand Pigeon) is endemic to New Zealand. It is a large pigeon at about 18 inches long. It has iridescent green plumage with a white underside. It is considered near threatened, due mainly to possums. That pigeon feeds largely on fruits, but will also visit bird feeders or water baths as seen below.
