SPOT-BILLED DUCK (Anas poecilorhyncha) – (See images below)

The spot-billed duck is a dabbling duck about the same size as the mallard. It breeds in Asia and migrates partially in the southern part of Asia. It owes its name to the mainly yellow spot at the tip of its bill. It has a brown plumage and there are horizontal stripes on each side of the head. This duck is widespread.
NAME: The English name ‘Duck’ is from Anglo-saxon ‘duce’ and means ‘diver’.
